Johnie H. Barrier

Johnie H. Barrier, 89, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Wayne County, Kentucky on February 28, 1921, son of the late Joe and Zora Bertram Barrier. He was a lifelong farmer in both Wayne and Lincoln Counties. He was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge for sixty eight years. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lucy Kennedy Barrier, three daughters, Linda Sumpter of Somerset, Kathy Campbell of Lancaster, KY and Faye Pitman of Eubank, eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Nona Barrier Bridgeman and Ona Barrier Raines. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Griffin officiating and Masonic services by Waynesburg Masonic Lodge #328. Burial will be in Elk Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
