Porter E. Isabell

Porter E. Isabell, 74 of Memory Lane, Science Hill, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born in Wayne County on April 23, 1932, son of the late James and Rachel Bertram Isabell. He was retired from the Somerset School System, was a member of Somerset Baptist Temple and attended Grace Missionary Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean War. He is survived by one son, Phil & (Diane) Isabell of Remington, IN, one daughter, Ann & (Troy) Hess of Science Hill, one stepson, Wayne & (Reva) Smith of Science Hill, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, ten step grandchildren, nine step great-grandchildren and two special nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Smith Isabell, who died on January 21, 2007, his parents, one son, Larry Isabell, one brother, Brent Isabell, two sisters, Barbara Grace Isabell and June Ehrhardt and one grandson. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Saturday, March 31, 2007 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill with Bro. David Carr and Bro. Don Berry officiating. Burial will be in McKinney Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38. Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
