Edna Marie Meece

Edna Marie Meece, 78, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Friday, February 4, 2011 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was born in Somerset, Kentucky on February 25, 1932, daughter of the late Willie and Maggie Lowery Hollars. She was a homemaker and a member of Chimney Rock Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Russell & (Freddie) Meece of Manchester, KY, one daughter, Julia Meece of Somerset, one brother, Johnny Hollars, three sisters, Rosie & (Harmon) Thompson, Louise Akers and Nancy West, six grandchildren, Eddie & (Missy) Taylor, Travis & (Amanda) Taylor, Misty Peavey, Tabitha Taylor, Karla & (Jamie) Harris and Michael Brockman and seven great-grandchildren, Houston Hembree, Kirsten Bodie, Alyssa Bodie, Blake Taylor, Jasmine Peavey, Jaxson Peavey and Graclynn Harris. She was preceded in death by husband, John Leonard Meece, one daughter, Effie Taylor, brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Monday, February 7, 2011 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Nix officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Sunday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
