Delia "Granny" Godsey

Delia "Granny" Godsey, 91 of Sam Jones Road in the Mt. Zion Community of Science Hill, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Somerset Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Science Hill, Kentucky on September 20, 1915, daughter of the late Avy Jasper. She was a homemaker and loved quilting. She was of the Methodist faith. She is survived by four sons, Charles Eugene & (Ada) Godsey of Science Hill, Robert Carroll & (Betty Jo) Godsey of Vaught Ridge, Homer Lee & (Mae) Godsey of Eubank and Thomas Powell Godsey of Science Hill, thirteen grandchildren, Tammy Keith, Kristie Godsey, Cory Godsey, Rebecca & (Doug) Thurman, Bobby & (Karen) Godsey, Billy Allen & (Mandy) Godsey, Randy Scott & (Crystal) Godsey, Kevin Godsey, Brian & (Lora) Godsey, Michael & (Leslie) Godsey, Janet Randall, Paula & (Kevin) Russell and Angie & (Jamie) Cress, twenty six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Willie Godsey, whom she married on March 11, 1937 and who died on July 4, 1964, her parents, two sons, Billy Jasper Godsey and James Edwin Godsey, one daughter, Patsy Godsey, one sister, Helia Jasper and one grandson, Stephen Godsey. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill with Bro. Richard West and Bro. Howard Godby officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
