William Vincent Hargis, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at his residence.
He was born in Pulaski County, KY on September 27, 1922, son of the late Lonzo and Irene Bishop Hargis. Bill lived most of his life in Miamisburg, Ohio, but spent a lot of his retirement years in Largo, Florida. He was dedicated to his work at GM and also owned his own septic tank business. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting. While he lived in Miamisburg, Ohio, Bill was a volunteer fire fighter for 22 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna Forsythe and her husband, Dennis, of Waynesville, and Diana Wilson of Middletown, OH; four grandchildren, Luke Day, Dwayne and Jesse Forsythe, and Jennifer Prouty; and four great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Katlyn, and Leighann Forsythe, and Erica Prouty.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margola Hargis, who died on July 1, 2008; one sister, Velma Hargis; and two brothers, Bob and Vola Hargis.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Sunday, February 20, 2011 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Muse officiating.
Burial will be in McKinney Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 PM until 8 PM Saturday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
