Darlene Godby Waddle

Darlene Godby Waddle, 84 of West Langdon Road in Science Hill, passed away Monday, April 23, 2007 at Somerset Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Pulaski County on March 1, 1922, daughter of the late Harvey and Pearl Taylor Godby. She was a ward secretary for Mercy Hospital in Hamilton, Ohio and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years and loved her class. She was also a member of Somer-Sets Square Dance in Somerset. She is survived by one stepson, Jim & (Sherry) Waddle of Ohio, four stepdaughters, Linda & (Stan) Pennington of Indiana, Linda & (Bill) Waddell of Virginia, Betty & (Darrell) Webber of Texas and Judy & (Jim) Curran of Florida, one sister, Cecila Wesley of Spring Hill, Florida, a very special friend, Helen Walker, nephew, David & (Patsy) Godby of Science Hill, niece, Joyce & (Joe) Wesley of Somerset, six other nephews and four other nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Waddle, parents, two brothers, Vandair Godby and Bob Godby and two sisters, Eva Wildes and Thelma Lee Godby, who died in infancy. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Friday, April 27, 2007 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill with Bro. Marty Shadoan and Bro. C.E. Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
