Clarence Lee Sims

Clarence Lee Sims, 92, of Kings Mountain, KY, passed away, Thursday April 7, 2011, as the result of a long illness. He was born in Somerset, KY on August 14, 1918. Son of the late William and Effie Caldwell Sims. Clarence served in the Army for 21 years where he retired as a Master Sergeant. He was a member of Pond Baptist Church. Clarence enjoyed U.K. Basketball. He coached young boys teams overseas, while serving in the military, he enjoyed working outdoors and spending time with his family. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Maxine Sims, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Dolly, Walter, May, Katharena, Lawerence and Roy Visitation will be after 10 AM Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Chester Cornett officitaing. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge arrangements.
