Verna Mae "Shorty" West

Verna Mae "Shorty" West, 52, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born in Somerset, Kentucky on March 14, 1959, daughter of Janet Wesley Anderson and the late Dewey Anderson. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband, Howard L. West Jr. of Science Hill, one son, Adam & (Korey) West of Somerset, two daughters, Jerri & (Jason) Jasper of Somerset and Danielle West of Science Hill, mother, Janet Wesley Anderson of Somerset, two brothers, Ritchie & (Beverly) Anderson of Science Hill and Rick Anderson of Somerset, one sister, Valerie & (Nathan) Boyd of Science Hill and three grandchildren, Hannah, Leanna and Caleb Jasper. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Lester Randolph and Bro. Jason Jasper officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
