Romer L. Keith Sr., 84, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at his residence.
He was born in Delta, Kentucky on February 26, 1927, son of the late Claudie and Nettie Flynn Keith. He was a press operator for Lear Siegler and a member of New Enterprise Baptist Church. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Ima Jean Tilley Keith of Science Hill, three sons, Romer Keith Jr. and Danny Wayne Keith, both of Science Hill and Cary Dale Keith of Michigan, two daughters, Patsy Jean Vanhook of Science Hill and Sharon Lynn Prater of Keller, TX, one brother, Louid Keith of Ohio, three sisters, Eva Muse of Nancy, Edna Black and Della Mae Gilliatt, both of Crawfordsville, IN, sixteen grandchildren, Michael & (Robin) Keith, Ronald Keith, Trucinda Keith, Samantha & (Daniel) Edwards, Kevin Prater, Lisa & (David) Cook, Cammy Vanhook, Brandon & (Jackie) Vanhook, Jill & (Chuck) Hampton, Dana & (Randy) Sandahl, Tonya Keith, Brandy Keith, Richie & (Kelly) Prater, Gloria & (Brett) Young, Bobby & (Mary) Prater and Cary & (Laura) Keith, thirty four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Hobert, Curtis and Golman Keith, three sisters, Evelyn Dunagan, Margie Dobbs and Gladys Becht and son-in-law, Gerald Vanhook.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM Friday, May 27, 2011 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Jim McKinney officiating.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38.
Visitation will be after 5 PM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
