Lucy Evelyn Barrier

Lucy Evelyn Barrier, 87, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Wayne County, Kentucky on February 15, 1924, daughter of the late Ezra and Lou Hicks Kennedy. She was a farmer and a homemaker. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and a member of Eastern Star Lodge #328. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Sumpter of Somerset, Kathy Campbell of Lancaster, KY and Faye Pitman of Eubank, one brother, Huel Kennedy of Monticello, two sisters, Christine Abbott of Monticello and Flonnie Campbell of Lexington, KY, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Johnie H. Barrier, her parents, six brothers and one sister. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Vola Brown officiating. Burial will be in Elk Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 PM Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
