Marcia June Slavey

Marcia June Sawyers Slavey, 60 of Lafavers Lane in Science Hill passed away Monday, May 28, 2007 at Britthaven Nursing Home. She was born in Manchester, Kentucky on June 3, 1946, daughter of Beatrice Garrison Sawyers and the late Frank Sawyers. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her mother, Beatrice Sawyers of Barnesburg, one son, Allen & (Heather) Slavey of Nancy, one daughter, Betty & (Rick) Ping of Somerset, one brother, Michael Sawyers of Barnesburg, two sisters, Marie Mink and Bertha & (Merle) Burdine both of Barnesburg and three grandchildren, Ashley Nicole & (Nathan) Stout, Brittany Ping and Sydney Slavey. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Slavey, whom she married in March of 1964, her father and a special aunt and uncle, Bertha & B. Massey. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday May 31, 2007 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill with Bro. Noel Dodson officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
