Lewis Dalton, 88, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011 at Somerwoods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born in Saline, Kentucky on August 24, 1922, son of the late Carson and Hester Robinson Dalton. He was a factory worker at General Motors and a member of First Baptist Church of Science Hill. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Ronald Lewis & (Lois) Dalton and Garry Lee Dalton, one daughter, Brenda Gail & (Bill) Shepherd and two sisters, Maggie Hall and Helen & (Ollis) Hall, all of Science Hill. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Ronald Scott Dalton, Tami Brady, Kristi Marie Cassada, Mary Lina Schmidt, Shannon Rae Simpson, Billie Gail Martin and William Jared Shepherd, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Irene Harmon Dalton, who died on December 20, 2004, his parents, three sons, Bobby Gerald Dalton, Timothy Wayne Dalton and James Arthur Dalton, one daughter, Wanda Rae Sweeney, one brother, Roscoe "Prunes" Robinson, two sisters, Dorothy Plock and Kathleen Hall and one grandchild, Sonja G. Fraser.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Pat Lawson, Bro. Charles Lucas and Bro. Linn Wethington officiating.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
