Anna Monroe, 70, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the residence of her daughter, Lisa Greer. She was born in Knox County, Kentucky on April 3, 1941, daughter of the late Toney and Ethel Hutton Monroe. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She touched the lives of many children as she cared for them during their childhood. She is survived by one son, Dewayne & (Christy) Carter of Eubank, two daughters, Lisa & (Jeff) Greer of Eubank and Glenda & (Barry) Flatt of Science Hill, eight grandchildren, Ashley Greer, Bradley Greer, Andrea Pennington, Chelsea Carter, Jayme Wells, J.D. Mounce, Payton Mounce and Taylor Hestand and a special family friend, Sherri Craig. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, John Monroe, Jack Monroe, Frank Monroe, Ross Monroe and James Monroe, two sisters, Violet Adams and Margaret McClain and one grandson, Nicholas Flatt. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Friday, July 29, 2011 at Brock Cemetery in Barbourville, Kentucky with Bro. Shelby Reynolds officiating. Visitation will be from 5 PM to 9 PM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Burial will be in Brock Cemetery. Donations may be made to WLJC Television Station, P.O. Box Y, Beatyville, KY 41311. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
