Dorothy Sweet Jasper, 86 of Farahs Way in Science Hill, passed away Friday, June 15, 2007 at her residence.
She was born in Pulaski County on October 9, 1920, daughter of the late Thomas and Ola Mofield Sweet. She was co-owner and vice-president of Jasper Coal Company and also a seamstress. She was a member of Science Hill Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by two sons, Ricky Jasper of Tennessee and Royce Jasper of Science Hill, three daughters, Judi & (Ree) Wilson of Lexington, Betty Joan & (Danny) Alexander of Science Hill and Jennifer Keith of Science Hill, one brother, Joe Gossett, Jr. of Somerset, eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Jasper, who died on July 17, 2000, her parents, one son, Ronald Jasper, one daughter, June Hammel, one brother, Herman Sweet, two granddaughters, Jackie Jasper Sexton and Dawn Hammel Debord and one grandson, Neal Thomas Keith.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill with Bro. Bob Hoots officiating.
Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday at the funeral home.
