Jurlean "Jean" Smith

Jurlean "Jean" Smith, 71 of Highway 70 West in Eubank, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2007 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born in the Vaught Ridge Community on May 18, 1936, daughter of the late Herbert and Artie Vaught Dick. She had recently retired from Isabella's Diner. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd Smith of Eubank, one son, Scottie Smith of San Diego, California, one daughter, Rhonda Mitchell of Eubank and three grandchildren, Jessica Mitchell of New Orleans, Louisiana, Adam Smith of Indiana and Hunter Smith of San Diego, California. She is also survived by her brother and best friend, Denzil & (Edith) Dick of Science Hill; four special nephews, Joey Dick of Eubank, Morris & (Jeanette) Dick of Science Hill, Doug & (Dreama) Smith of Somerset and Danny & (Cindy) Dick of Somerset; a host of other nieces and nephews; four half brothers, Dallas & (Sue) Dick of Eubank, Billy & (Gloria) Dick of Eubank, Tom & (Mildred) Dick of Science Hill and Danny Dick of Cincinnati, Ohio; and four half sisters, Iva Lee & (Robert) McMillin of Casey County, Brenda & (Darrell) Wesley of Science Hill, Geneva Holt of Somerset and Barbara Rose of Somerset. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Jimmy Dick and one half brother, James Alvey Dick. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, June 22, 2007 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill. Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
