Joseph "Joe" C. Padgett, 86, of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at his residence.
He was born in Waynesburg, Kentucky on May 15, 1925, the son of the late Matt and Mamie Jacobs Padgett. He was a carpenter, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and an active member of Double Springs Baptist Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Reta Susan & (Jerry) Hampton of Waynesburg, Vicki Lynn & (R.J.) Harding of Tell City, IN and Anita Jo & (Tim) O'Dell of White Bluff, TN, seven grandchildren, Renee` Harder, Rachelle Burns, Joseph Hampton, Wiley Faw III, Rebecca Scalf, Matthew O'Dell and Zac O'Dell, thirteen great-grandchildren, Thomas Harder, Tina Harder, Bethanie Hampton, Jesse Hampton, Wyatt Hampton, Caleb Joseph Burns, Jos Faw, Landrie Faw, Simone Faw, Vincent Faw, Shepherd Scalf, September Scalf and Kensi Scalf and one sister, Marcella Johnson. He was loved by many many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Haught Padgett, who died on April 11, 2011 and one son, Jesse Matt Padgett.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Double Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Ron Shepherd officiating.
Burial will be in Olive Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 12 Noon Saturday at Double Springs Baptist Church.
