Roy Lee Hamilton, 81, of Nancy, Kentucky, formerly of Waynesburg, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2011 at his residence, following a long illness.
He was born in Shellmount, Tennessee on August 3, 1930, son of the late James Porter and Della Centers Hamilton. He accepted Jesus as his Savior. He was a very dependable person who loved home and family. He enjoyed fishing, watching westerns and having a good laugh with friends. He will be deeply missed. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Lodge #328 of Waynesburg and a member of the Oleika Shriners. In earlier years he worked for National Distilleries of Cincinnati, OH.
He is survived by one daughter, Ginger Lee Renaker of Nancy, two grandchildren, Brandy Lee & (Tony) Perkins and Aaron Paul & (Brittany) Renaker, both of Somerset, one great-grandchild, Katherine Lee Hope Perkins of Somerset, four brothers, Paul & (Helen) Hamilton of Science Hill, Alex "Eddie" & (Joan) Hamilton of Waynesburg, Herman & (Willena) Hamilton of Somerset and Kenneth & (Fonda) Hamilton of Waynesburg, two sisters, Sara "Bonnie" Buckner of Bronston and Carol Sue Hamilton of Somerset and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Osborne Hamilton, his parents, one brother, James Wiley Hamilton, Jimmy Lynn Hamilton "A special nephew" and brother-in-law, Charles.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Perkins officiating.
Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with a Masonic service beginning at 7 PM.
