William Samuel "Bill" Gibson, 77, of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, husband of JoAnn Daniels Gibson, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Riverview Health Care Center in Prestonsburg.
He was born in Letcher County, Kentucky on June 1, 1934, son of the late William Samuel and Beulah Hall Gibson.
In 1976 Bill went into the real estate business and opened the first full time real estate office in Pike County in 1978, for the last six years he had been associated with Redd, Brown and Williams Real Estate Services, he was the former owner of Action Auction and Realty. Bill was a graduate of the Eastern KY Board of Realtors, served six years as Commissioner for the Board of Realtors. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame for the Board of Auctioneers, and active member of the Jaycees and a member of the First Baptist Church in Prstonsburg, KY.
In addition to his wife, JoAnn, he is survived by one son, Harold & (Trinka) Gibson of Paducah, KY, four step sons, Tim Parsley of Pikeville, KY, Randy S. Click, Oil Springs, KY, James Click, of Prestonsburg, KY and Tom Click of Charlottesville, VA, one step daughter, Trish Hall of Prestonsburg, KY, one brother, Robert M. Gibson of Las Vegas, NV, two grandchildren, Kacey & (Jason) Alexander of Paducah, KY and Ches & (Whitney) Gibson of Bradenton, FL, two great-grandchildren, Logan W. Alexander and Sawer W. Gibson, six step grandchildren and one step grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, C.V. Gibson.
A graveside service will be held at 5 PM Monday, October 31, 2011 at Science Hill Cemetery.
