Bessie May Baston Burton

Bessie Burton, 97, of Eubank, Kentucky. Born in Pulaski County, July 23, 1914. She was the daughter of Shelvy Baston and Ibbie Acton Baston. Bessie lived in Pulaski County all her life. Bessie passed away at her residence on November 18, 2011. In 1936 Bessie married the late Floyd Burton and was blessed with 4 children, Ray, Ronald, Joyce Ann, and Jean. Survivors include a son, Ray (Shelva) Burton and a daughter, Jean Burton (Terry) Barker all of Eubank and a Daughter-in-law Delores (Louie) Floyd of Science Hill. Bessie was blessed with six grandsons. Kenny Burton, Larry Burton, Tommy and (Jamie) Burton, Chris and (Donna) Burton all of Pulaski County, Ronald and (Angie) Barker of North Carolina, and Kevin and (Jacy) Barker of Iowa. Bessie has ten great grandchildren. Kent Burton, Andrea Roberts, Brice Burton, Heather Reynolds, Clay Burton, Mahala Burton, Dylan Burton, Logan Barker, Garrett Barker, and Bailey Barker. She is the great-great grandmother to Karson Burton, Allie Burton, and Kendall Roberts. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends. Bessie was a homemaker and a cleaning lady for thirteen years at Goldenberg's Furniture. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church, Science Hill. Preceding her in death was her parents, a son Ronald, and daughter Joyce Ann, brothers (Luther, Ed and Clinton), and sisters (Flossie, Fae, and Opal). A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Slagle officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 PM Sunday, November 20, 2011 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
