Jesse James Wesley, 97, of Arcadia Street in Somerset, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home. He was born in Mt. Hope, Kentucky on February 21, 1910, son of the late Joe and Sereny Wheeler Wesley. He was a farmer and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Minnie Lee Gaddis Wesley, whom he married on April 10, 1932, three sons, Joe Steve & (Joyce) Wesley of Somerset, Ronnie & (Geneva) Wesley and Darrell & (Brenda) Wesley both of Science Hill, four daughters, Burnetta & (Johnny) Keeney of Somerset, Nola Blevins of Lafayette, IN, Janet Anderson of Science Hill and Brenda & (Vernon) Godby of Somerset, three brothers, Alonzo & (Delphia) Wesley of Muncie, IN, Earlin Wesley and Harold & (Edith) Wesley both of Gaston, IN, one sister-in-law, Martha Wesley of Indianapolis, IN, thirteen grandchildren, thirty three great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Clyde Eugene Wesley, who died in infancy, two brothers, William Chester "Check" Wesley and Charles Wesley, one half brother, Harlan Wesley, three sisters, Anna & (Ransom) Gaddis, Mollie & (Jay T) Dick and Edna & (Elmer) New, two sons-in-law, Dewey Anderson and Glynn Blevins, one sister-in-law, Flora Dean Wesley, two grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, July 27, 2007 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Evans and Bro. Ernest Warren officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
