Basil O. "Pete" Lovins

Basil O. "Pete" Lovins, 92, of Kennedy Street in Somerset, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2007 at Britthaven Nursing Home. He was born in Pulaski County on May 20, 1915, son of the late Thomas and Betty Ann Estep Lovins. He was a farmer, a former Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and a member of Woodstock Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of almost 74 years, Mattie DeBord Lovins, whom he married on September 28, 1933, two sons, Gordon & (Frances) Lovins of Somerset and Lowell & (Eleanor) Lovins of Louisville, a sister, Dorothy Head of Eubank, four grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Donald Lee Lovins, eight brothers, one sister and one grandson, William Larry Lovins. A funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. C.E. Hansford officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
