William O. Shepherd "O. Shep"

Local artist, William O. Shepherd "O. Shep", 65, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on November 17, 1946, son of William T. Shepherd and the late Jessamine Ann Barber Shepherd. He was a member of Science Hill Christian Church. He was owner and operator of "O. Shep Originals" at Renfro Valley for 15 years. He also taught art classes at Somerset Community College and won numerous awards for his artistic talent. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Gail Dalton Shepherd, whom he married on February 17, 1968, his father, William T. Shepherd of Wilmore, KY, one son, William Jared & (Alisha) Shepherd of Science Hill, two daughters, Shannon Rae Shepherd Simpson and Billie Gail Shepherd Martin & (Ryan) both of Somerset, two grandchildren, Lilly-Ann Young and Daniel Young and many aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home and after 12 Noon Wednesday at Science Hill Christian Church. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Science Hill Christian Church with Bro. Charles Lucas officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
