Lemetta Godbey Dause, 63, of Richmond, passed away December 30, 2011, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY.
She was born June 19, 1948, in Casey County, Ky., the daughter of
Thomas L. and Clytha (Salyers) Godbey. Lemetta was active in the Madison
County 4-H and was a Madison County Homemaker of the year. Lemetta was an active member of the Union City Christian Church, past member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and an avid bowler and bunco player.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Clytha Ester (Salyers) Godbey and her brother, Luther C. Godbey.
Survivors include her father, Thomas L. Godbey; her son, Christopher Dause (Carol); her daughter Cindy Whittington (Chris); and five grandchildren; Lucas Dause, John Dause , JP Whittington, Katlyn Whittington, and MaKenzie Whittington; brother Thomas Jr (Evelyn) Godbey; and sisters; Nancy Maddox, Geraldine (David) Floyd and Jacqueline (John) Carman.
She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother and a caring sister and daughter. She will be forever missed and loved by all who knew her.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 3,
2012 at the Union City Christian Church, 2473 Union City Road, with Bro.
Chip Denief officiating.
Visitation will be 4 to 9 Monday at the Union City Christian Church.
Following the funeral service Tuesday, a second visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the Mount Olive Christian Church in Casey County, with
burial to follow in the Salyers Cemetery in Casey County.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hospice Compassionate Care Center, 350 Issacs Lane, Richmond, KY 40475.
