Virginia L. Neely

Virginia L. Neely, 97, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born in Thorpe, West Virginia on August 26, 1914, daughter of the late Homer and Ada Osborne Lefler. She was a homemaker. She is survived by one daughter, Rita Kay Neely, two sisters, Edith Campbell and Lucy Lefler, all of Science Hill, four grandchildren, Rhonda Mitchell, Wendie Jacobs, Valerie Neely and Christy Neely and three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Crystal and Brittany, three great-great-grandchildren, Elaina, Hailey and Kaitlyn and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Neely, who died in 1972, two sons, Charles Edward Neely and Wilbur Loy Neely, three brothers, Richard, Homer and Harry Lefler and six sisters, Bea Lefler, Vada Lefler, Lena Cox, Tina Gregory, Jessie Dot Dick and Anna Lee Cloud. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Gary New officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
