Lowell Wesley, 74, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012 at his residence. He was born in the Ansel community on April 10, 1937, son of the late Elvin and Clara Godby Wesley. He retired from Bemis Bag Company, where he was an employee for 37 years, with 18 years spent working in Indianapolis, IN and 19 years in Memphis, TN. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed various types of auto racing, baseball and basketball. Lowell grew up in Beech Grove and Science Hill, before retiring in Somerset. He is survived by his wife, Paula Mae Hall, whom he married on July 12, 1958, two children, Rhonda Michelle Wesley of Somerset and Lowell Monroe & (Pamela) Wesley of Nashville, TN, two step grandchildren, Candice Tate and Landon Tate, one sister, Audrey Morris, brothers-in-law, Carl & (Ina) Hall, Bert & (Toy Lee) Hall and Charles & (Ann) Hall, sisters-in-law, Lula Bowman, Mary & (Howard) Godby, Anita Wesley, Connie Wesley and Betty Wesley and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Earlin Wesley, Lloyd Wesley, Delmar & (Edith) Wesley and an infant brother, one sister, Mildred & (Howard) West, parents-in-law, Edward and Daisy Niekirk Hall and brothers-in-law, Hobert Morris, Donald Hall and Lonnie Bowman. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Bert Hall officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:30 AM Sunday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Beech Grove Cemetery fund C/O Morris & Hislope Funeral Home or Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
