Edd Godsey

Mr. Edd Godsey, of the Ringgold Road community, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at the Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Godsey was 91. Mr. Godsey was born March 12, 1916 in Delmar, Kentucky to the late John Wesley and Zora Elizabeth Baker Godsey. Mr. Godsey spent most of his life as a farmer and loved to garden and share the vegetables he grew with family and friends. He was a loving and kind man that shared a wink and a smile with everyone he met. He will be sadly missed by the nurses and staff at Somerset Nursing and Rehab Center who cared for him with hearts and hands of kindness. Mr. Godsey is survived by one brother, Jack & (Lucille) Godsey and one sister, Irene Henderson. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Leonard Godsey, Herman Godsey and Genius Godsey and five sisters, Arizona Inabnitt, Versie Stout, Emma Gossett, Mary Rogers and Martha Morris. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Friday, August 24, 2007 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Johnie Waters officiating. Burial will be in the Burge Cemetery, Nancy, KY. Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
