Ina Bea (Burdine) Whitaker

Ina Bea Burdine Whitaker, 92, of Somerset, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on June 3, 1915, daughter of the late Charlie and Alice Arnold Burdine. She was a homemaker and a member of Sinking Valley Baptist Church. She is survived by three sons, Wayne Whitaker, George Lee Whitaker and J.D. Whitaker all of Somerset, four daughters, Mary Mae Beebe of Cincinnati, OH, Elizabeth Sours of Indianapolis, IN, Lula Couch of Nineveh, IN and Shirley Adams of Somerset, one sister, Zella Norton of Somerset, twenty six grandchildren, forty seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Harley Whitaker, whom she married on November 2, 1932 and who died on October 15, 1990, her parents, one son, Norman Whitaker, who died in infancy, three brothers, John, Millard and Edd Burdine and two sisters, Alma Arthur and Emma Price. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, September 1, 2007 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Renner and Bro. Greg Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Price Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
