Rev. Norman Levine, 94, of Willow Creek Road in Eubank, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at his residence.
He was born in Newport, Kentucky on January 17, 1913, son of the late Bernard and Marjorie Alexander Levine. He was a Baptist minister, a member of Camp Ground Baptist Church and attended Moody Bible Institution in Wheaton, Illinois. He was ordained at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Johnson, Florida in July 1950 and led the singing twice for Evangelist Billy Graham in Stark, Florida. Rev. Levine was pastor of several churches throughout Florida and Kentucky and served as Chaplain in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After his service to his country in the Navy, he worked at the University of Florida as a machinist.
He is survived by two sons, Norman D. & (Alberta) Levine of Eubank and Billy E. & (Lydia) Levine of Valley Station, KY, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Louise Moore Levine, whom he married on September 21, 1935 and who died on August 19, 2003, his parents and one brother, Charles Levine.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Muse officiating.
Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 10 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
