Owen C. Bray

Owen C. Bray, 53, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Nancy, Kentucky on November 15, 1958, son of the late Columbus and Flora Tarter Bray. He graduated from Nancy High School in 1977. He was an employee of Donaldson Company in Nicholasville, KY. Owen attended Science Hill Church of the Nazarene. Owen loved the outdoors and was often seen planting a garden or mowing his lawn during the summer. He was loved by many and never met a stranger. He was the kind of person people loved to be around because his smile was contagious. He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Wilson Bray, whom he married on June 27, 1981. They shared many wonderful memories over their 30 years together. Along with his wife, he is survived by his two children, Keisha & (Mike) Hill and Keegan & (Amber) Bray, both of Somerset, two grandchildren, Lucas and Addison Belle Hill, three sisters, Rebecca & (Lyn) Presley and Pamela & (Mitch) Cain, both of North Carolina and Jean Ping of Somerset, four brothers, Rick & (Barbara) Bray of North Carolina, Ernie & (Emma) Bray of Somerset, Ralph & (Mildred) Bray of Ohio and Boyd & (Carrie) Bray of Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Roger Bray and Wendell Tarter and two sisters, Vera Redmond and Opal Auterson. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Dr. Curtis Sellers and Bro. Jason Moore officiating. Private burial will be in the Bray Family Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
