Lynnville Smith, 61, of Danville, Kentucky, passed away, Monday April 2, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his wife and children.
He was born February 28, 1951 in Stanford, Ky to the late Manuel and Ona Smith. A graduate of Memorial High School and the University of Kentucky, Lynnville followed his dreams and career around the world, eventually returning to his beloved farm in his native Lincoln Co. He was retired from Nestle USA in 2009, where he served as a Senior Vice President and Director of Purchasing. In 2007, he was commissioned by the state governor as a Kentucky Colonel.
He will be remembered for his dedication to his family and friends, as well as his willingness to always go the extra mile
He's survived by his wife of 41 years, Lynda Griffin Smith; three children, Nathan Smith (Heather) of Waynesburg; Julie Smith (James Norton) of Valencia, Calif.; Amy Despres (Stephen) of Alexandria, Va.; two granddaughters, Sophie Smith and Penelope Despres; two sisters, Wanda Alford of Midway and Joyce Williams of Arizona.
Funeral services will be held, Saturday, April 7 at 2:00 P.M. at the Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill.
Entombment will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday, April 6, 2012 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
