Doris Jacqueline "Jackie" Begley

Doris Jacqueline "Jackie" Begley, 81, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born in Perry Co., Kentucky, on July 21, 1930, daughter of the late Emmitt and Isabella Napier Suttles. She was a retired School Teacher. She attended Lee's Junior College in Jackson, Kentucky; she was the President of PROOF, a member of the Women's Democratic Organization, American Legion Unit #38 Women's Auxiliary, an active advocate for those individuals with special needs, and of the Presbyterian Faith. She is survived by two sons, Bruce Donald & (Barbara) Begley, Chester "Chet" Emmitt Begley, one daughter, Jimmie Ann Hoskins, seven grandchildren, Amanda & (John) Muse, Ashley McCoy, Jamie & (Mike) Mills, Justin Hoskins, Leslie & (Josh) Duckworth, Emily Begley, Billy Begley, nine great-grandchildren, Tanner McCoy, Parker McCoy, Peyton McCoy, Devin Muse, Johnny Muse, Jennifer Muse, Clay Duckworth, Sam Duckworth, and Alex Duckworth, one niece, Donna Lee Cannon, and one nephew, Emmitt Charles Suttles. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Paul Begley, and one brother, Don Suttles. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Monday, May 21, 2012 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 11 AM Monday, May 21, 2012 at the funeral home. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
