Robert Gene "Bob" New

Robert Gene "Bob" New, 67, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on June 1, 1944, son of the late Marvin and Jane New. He was a member of Eubank Baptist Church and a laborer at Vaught Bros. Manufacturing for over 40 years. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, gardening and fishing. He is survived by three daughters, Melynda & (Matt) Elder of Eubank, Kristi Lay of Lexington, KY and Kelli New of Eubank, two grandchildren, Dylan and Chloe Elder and two brothers, Carmel New and Lee & (Geneva) New, all of Eubank. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Ellen Wilson New, whom he married on August 30, 1969 and who died on June 14, 2011, his parents, three brothers, Estle New, Harold New and Carlos New and three sisters, Luzetta New, Lodena Harper and Wilma Blevins. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, May 25, 2012 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Shelby Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Pulaski Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
