Merla E. Blevins

Merla E. Blevins, 87, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Mintonville, Kentucky on December 8, 1924, daughter of the late Virgil and Luri Jannie Carter Harness. She was a homemaker and member of Ringgold Baptist Church. She is survived by four sons, Paul & (Sandy) Blevins and Mike & (Connie) Blevins, both of Nancy, KY, Dennis & (Norma) Blevins and Doug & (Carola) Blevins both of Somerset, KY; five daughters, Ileen & (Dennis) Dalton of Nancy, KY, Stella & (Jessie) Gibson of Somerset, KY, Jeannie & (Sherman) Adkins of Eubank, KY, Kathy & (Dave) Jelley of Georgetown, OH, and Carol Blevins of Somerset, KY, twenty three grandchildren, twenty nine great-grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvil Ottis Blevins whom passed away on July 16, 1991, her parents; five brothers, Jim, Wick, John, Ray, and Robert Harness; and seven sisters, Thelma Waddle, Gracie Perkins, Faye Baker, Ella Spears Allen, Lucy Waddle, Flora Spears, and Betty Harness. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday July 24, 2012 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Arnold Larkin and Bro. Bobby Cole officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday July 23, 2012 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
