Nora (Flynn) Linkes, 89, of Douglas, Georgia, formerly of Pulaski County, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at Coffee Regional Medical Center.
She was born on December 21, 1917, a native of Pulaski County, daughter of the late John Tate and Genette Catherine (Abbott) Flynn. She retired after 21 years of service with the J.J. Newberry Company and was a member of Southern Heights Christian Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Marlene Ann Farmer of Douglas, GA, two grandchildren, Roy Ed Farmer and Leeia Farmer Meeks, four great-grandchildren, Ky Meeks, Kope Meeks, Clara Farmer and Sam Farmer, a close companion, Albert Herrin and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Edd Linkes, who died on February 7, 1988, her parents, five brothers, Willard, Tate, Green, Johnny and Jessie Abbott, three sisters, Sally, Bertha and Marie and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, October 20, 2007 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill, KY with Rev. Gene Wells officiating.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at the funeral home.
