Volina Evelyne Owens

Evelyne Tackett Owens, age 84, of Brandon, Florida, formerly of Somerset, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at the Brandon Regional Hospital in Brandon, Florida. Evelyne was born October 31, 1927 in Pulaski County, Kentucky, and is a daughter of the late Dewey and Lula Justice Tackett. She was married to Roy B Owens until his death in 1987. She was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and baking. Survivors include her daughter, Saundra Owens Suttle and son-in-law Tom Suttle of Brandon, Florida; her son, Ronnie B. Owens and daughter-in-law Sarah Owens of Science Hill, Kentucky, two granddaughters, Allison Evans Brandstetter of Lithia, Florida and Farrah L. Owens of Science Hill, Kentucky; three great-granddaughters, Audrey Brandstetter, Gloria Brandstetter and Sophia Brandstetter of Lithia, Florida; two brothers, Barkley Tackett of Winchester, and Glenn Tackett of Hazard; four sisters, Norma Whittaker of New Albany, Indiana, Carma Payne of Cincinnati, Ohio, Wanda Eldridge of Shepherdsville, and Arlene Ward of Somerset. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Marshall, Smith and Stanley Tackett; and a sister, Civilene Hendrickson. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Owens will be at 10: 00 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2012 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill, Kentucky. Eddie Suttle will be officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Somerset, Kentucky. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
