Velma Blackburn

Velma Blackburn, 89, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Bridge Point Care and Rehabilitation Center in Florence, KY. She was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on October 4, 1922, daughter of the late Quincy and Ellen Ashley Baugh. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She is survived by one son, Hershell & (Minie) Blackburn of Burlington, KY, one daughter, Lavern & (Gary) Byrd of Cincinnati, OH, several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, Marie Girdler and Rose Mary Borders, four brothers, Hollis Baugh, Ivan Baugh, Leman Baugh and Lewis Baugh and one sister, Merlie Pence. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Muse officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12 Noon Sunday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
