Celesta Jane "Tess" Singleton Calder, 90, of Ebright Street in Science Hill, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at her residence. She was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on May 17, 1917, daughter of the late Roscoe and Emaline Black Singleton. She was a homemaker. She is survived by one son, Clifford Calder of Science Hill, three daughters, Laverne "Tootsie" & (Harold) Whiles of Science Hill, Edith & (Jack) Hall of Somerset and Ann & (Glen) Mullins of Eubank, one sister, Maude Estep of Danville, sixteen grandchildren, Francis & (Mike) Spillman, Tim & (Oreida) Whiles, Alan & (Debbie) Hall and Jeanie & (Stan) Brown all of Somerset, Dallas & (Angie) Whiles of Franklin, KY, Connie & (Rick) Wilson, Eddie Whiles, Randy Hall, Wayne Calder and Mike Calder all of Science Hill, Kim & (Tommy) Taylor of Waynesburg, Judy & (Sonny) Roark of Eubank, Ray & (Melinda) Cromer of Ohio, Jimmy & (Angie) Cromer of Burnside, Terry Mullins of Eubank and Angie Mullins of Lexington, twenty nine great-grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren, twelve great-great-grandchildren and four step great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Calder, whom she married on September 28, 1935 and who died on August 30, 2006, her parents, Emaline and Roscoe Singleton, stepmother, Alice, one daughter, Rojean Cromer, five brothers, Glen Singleton, George Singleton, Lawrence Singleton, Oscar Singleton and Cecil Singleton, one sister, Ethel Blair and one granddaughter, Sherri Mullins. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Muse and Bro. David Green officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
