Mr. Charles Cain "Charlie" Hall, 82 of Miamisburg, Ohio, died Thursday, November 22, 2007 at Life Care Hospital of Dayton, Ohio.
He was born in Science Hill, Kentucky on January 19, 1925, son of the late Chester B. and Flossie L. (Robbins) Hall. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Georgia M. (Godby) Hall, whom he married on May 31, 1946.
He is survived by his daughter, Patricia A. & (Robert) Vorhis of West Carrollton, OH, a son, Kenneth C. Hall of Miamisburg, OH, a granddaughter, Teresa & (Lisle) Lingenfelter and a great-grandson, Benjamin R. Lingenfelter, all of Miamisburg, OH.
He was a U.S. Navy combat veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard. Mr. Hall, or "Charlie" as he was known by his friends, was retired from R.L. Drake, with over 10 years of service as a chemical plater. He was previously employed by Otterbein Press as a linotype operator with over 30 years of employment. Mr. Hall was a Past Commander of American Legion Post #165, Past Worthy President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2306, member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post #3438 and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1645. He was also a Colonel in the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Most significantly, he was a good husband, a good father, a good friend and a good man. He will be sorely missed.
Graveside services will be at 2 PM Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Science Hill Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post #38.
