Lansford B. Hood, 76, of Highway 39 in Eubank, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born in Bloss, Kentucky on June 22, 1931, son of the late Alonzo B. and Alma Cleo Bullock Hood. He was an employee for Norfolk Southern Railroad and a member of Walnut Grove Church of Christ where he was a deacon and song leader. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Cromer Hood of Eubank, one son, Terry & (Dianna Gayle) Hood of Eubank, two daughters, Kathy & (Philip) Scott of Corbin and Karen & (Steve) Gentry of Somerset, one brother, Bobby D. Hood of Somerset, three sisters, Ann Harper of Shopville and Velma Cromer and Doris & (Clinton) Ping both of Somerset and seven grandchildren, Jeremy Lee & (Michelle) Hood, Travis Lee & (Christina) Hood, Ashley Erin Scott, Meagan Sierra Scott, Morgan Sarah Scott, Joshua Lance Scott and Kayla Lucretia Gentry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Gary Hood, one brother, Lester Bill Hood and three sisters, Grace Russell, Georgia Russell and Wanda VanHook.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Philip Scott and Bro. Marvin Cromer officiating.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post #38.
Visitation will be after 5 PM Friday at the funeral home.
