Hazel Massey Acey

Hazel Massey Acey, 82, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on May 31, 1930, daughter of the late Amanda Wesley Ballard and Edward Massey. She was a former employee of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home and a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Science Hill. She is survived by two sons, Paul & (Carolyn) Acey of Science Hill and Clifton & (Jena) Acey of Somerset, three brothers, Donald Massey of Jeffersonville, IN, Joe Massey of Albany, KY and Eddie Massy of Science Hill, six sisters, Aldiana Massey of Royal Oaks, MI, Mary Jolly of Cave City, KY, Effie Peters of Albany, KY, Gladys Massey of Science Hill, Dorothy Adams and Edna Williams, both of Somerset, seven grandchildren, Lee Acey, Dennis James & (Amy) Acey and Amanda & (Lee) Tidwell, whom she raised and Paul Acey Jr., Jamie Lynn Acey, Ashley Nicole Perez and Karen & (Mark) Stevens and twelve great-grandchildren, Brooklynne Acey, Abbie Powell, Camy Acey, Emily Acey, Summer Perez, Ethan Acey, Jon Stevens, Tyler Stevens, Joe Perez, Haley Foster, Jasimine Pratt and Faith Acey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Franklin "Bob" Acey, who died on January 23, 2008, her parents, two brothers, Charles Massey and Paul Massey, who died in infancy, two sisters, Angela and Elizabeth Massey, who both died in infancy and one grandson, Joseph Acey. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Massey officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation for Hazel Massey Acey will be after 6 PM Friday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
