Henry Turpin, 83, of Fairview Road in Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 18, 2008 at St. Joseph East in Lexington.
He was born in Naomi, Kentucky on February 28, 1924, son of the late George and Vina Cundiff Turpin. He was a farmer and a member of Sardis Christian Church.
He is survived by one son, Gary Turpin of Winchester, KY, three brothers, Willie Turpin of Eubank, Denney Turpin of Waynesburg and Bennie Turpin of Indianapolis, IN, two sisters, Cynthia Smith of Biloxi, MS and Thelma Hamilton of Lexington, KY one grandchild, B.J. Turpin of Pigeon Forge, TN, three step grandchildren, six step great-grandchildren and special friends, Willard and Audrey Gibson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Turpin, whom he married on November 27, 1958 and who died on November 5, 2007, his parents, one daughter, Margaret Christine Turpin and four sisters, Grace Rusk, Elsie Pettigo, Vernada Mosher and Vena Cox.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Sardis Christian Church with Bro. Lester Randolph and Bro. Greg Powell officiating.
Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Monday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
