Sterle Wooton

Sterle Wooton, 91, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born in Wooton, Kentucky on November 27, 1921, son of the late Harris and Emily Melton Wooton. He was owner of Wooton Heating & Air and a member of Eubank Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for 53 years. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, serving overseas for 5 years and receiving a Bronze Star during his service. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Everett Wooton, nine children, Betty Settle, John Wooton, Gayle & (Terry) Vaught, all of Eubank, Charles Wooton of Arlington, VA, Rachel & (Victor) Warren of Waynesburg, KY, Polly & (Garnett) Atwood of Pace, FL, Charlotte & (Tom) Brence of Eubank, Sue & (Frank) Cannavo of Lexington, KY and Lou & (Art) Lucky of Eubank, twenty three grandchildren and twenty eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Janet Wooton, one son, James Wooton, one brother, Bruce Wooton and two sisters, Ella Oney and Esther Wooton A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Eubank Baptist Church with Bro. Shelby Reynolds and Bro. Ronald Rose officiating. Burial will be in Wooton Family Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11 AM Tuesday at Eubank Baptist Church. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
