Carl Brent Lay

Carl Brent Lay, 74, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Norwood, Kentucky on November 21, 1938, son of the late Opal Marie Phelps Hamm. He was a taxi cab driver for City and Veterans Cab. He is survived by one son, John Glover & (Brenda) of Monticello, KY, one daughter, Samantha Henson Thomas & (Dennis) of Somerset, longtime companion, Alice Lora Broughton of Eubank, four sisters, Emma Lois Hutcheson & (Dallas) of Somerset, Sylvia Urich of Indianapolis, IN, Opal Estelle Wallace & (Robert) of Russell Springs, KY and Sue Smith & (Roger) of Park City, KY, one grandchild, Matthew Glover, two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Dale and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Opal Marie Phelps Hamm, step father, William O. "Dault" Hamm, three brothers, Richard Hamm, Ralph Hamm and Randall Hamm and four sisters, Ruby Hines, Juanita Turner, Judy Gorham and Leona McBeth. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Monday, December 17, 2012 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Patrick Butcher officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 11 AM Monday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
