Beulah Mize Tarter

Beulah Mize Tarter, 93, of Beecher House, formally of Eubank, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2008. She was born in Bent, Kentucky on February 12, 1914, daughter of the late Robert F. and Mary Phelps Mize. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was a member of Eubank Baptist Church, which she loved and attended regularly and was one of the oldest members, having attended for 65 years. She farmed most of her life and raised huge gardens that she shared with her family. She quilted hundred of quilts which she loved to give as gifts. She was a sweet and precious "Granny" and she will be missed. She is survived by one daughter, Alfreda Tuggle of Somerset, one son, Wayne & (Ellen) Tarter of Waynesburg, four grandchildren, Vickie Dungan and Patty & (Joe) Dungan, both of Somerset, Rob Tarter of Ohio and Jennifer & (John) Smith of Texas, four great-grandchildren, Amy Gibson, Greg & (Teya) Dungan, Patrick Dungan and Rachel Smith, three great-great-grandchildren, Braden Weddle, Jordan Phelps and Daylan Dungan, one daughter-in-law, Ozetta Tarter of Eubank, Four sisters, Zella Smith and Louella Cundiff, both of Somerset, Betty Jo Gibson of Eubank and Evelyn Wesley of Michigan and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Tarter, who died on July 24, 1982, her parents, one son, Ronald Lee Tarter, son-in-law, Arvis Tuggle, grandson-in-law, Dale Dungan, three sisters, Bessie Cross, Juanita Jones and Lida Mize and three brothers, William, Leonard and Howard Mize. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Shelby Reynolds and Bro. Greg Dungan officiating. Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Friday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
