Merrill Douglas "Doug" Nevels

Merrill Douglas "Doug" Nevels, 58, of East Kentucky Highway 70 in Yosemite, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Casey County Hospital. He was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on March 30, 1949, son of the late Cecil Clarence and Rose Jane Goff Nevels. He was a laborer and of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Vernell Logan Nevels of Yosemite, three sons, Mark Douglas Nevels of Ohio, Dougie Nevels of Georgia and Anthony Nevels of Somerset, one daughter, Leanna Nevels of Somerset, one step son, Ronnie Logan of Science Hill, one brother, Cecil Clarence Nevels, Jr. of Somerset, one sister, Sandra Taylor of Somerset, two grandchildren and five step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Rebecca Nevels, who died in infancy, two step sons, Jeffrey Logan and Benson Logan and two brothers, Phillip Wayne Nevels and Gary Lee Nevels. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Sunday, February 17, 2008 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Carson Atwood officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 AM Sunday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
