Glenice Dick Harness, 71, of Wayne Street in Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on September 25, 1936, daughter of the late Johnnie C. and Ida Randolph Dick. Glenice was a member of Science Hill Church of the Nazarene and was the Teen Choir Director for many years. She was co-owner until 1998 and administrator of Hilltop Resthome until her death where she worked for 44 years. She was a member of the Science Hill Garden Club. Glenice enjoyed playing the piano, her work and her family. Glenice will be greatly missed by all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters and her extended family at Hilltop Resthome. She is survived by her husband, Bobbie Harness of Science Hill, three daughters, Judy Vaught Whitaker and her husband Jerome of Science Hill, Kathy Vaught Girdler and her husband Barry of Somerset and Sandy Vaught Humble and her husband Richard of Somerset, six grandchildren, Brian Whitaker and his wife Stephanie of Nancy, Amity Parvin Thomas and her husband Ricky of Somerset, Holly Humble Cimala and her husband Josh of Somerset, Beth Parvin Creech and her husband Chris of Science Hill, Doug Whitaker and his wife Sara of Crestview, FL and Brandy Humble of Somerset, ten great-grandchildren, Emily Whitaker, Hannah Whitaker, Chase Cimala, Haley Creech, Orion Thomas, Cayden Cimala, Bailey Whitaker, Kylie Whitaker, Madox Thomas and Corban Cimala, three brothers, Vernon Dick, Ronnie Dick and his wife Mary Ellen and Bill Dick and his wife Ethel Lou, all of Science Hill, one sister, Bernice Broyles and her husband, Jim of Lexington, sisters-in-law, Minnie McClendon and her husband Doyle of Somerset, Lillie Ard and her husband R.T. of Ferguson, Linda Huff and her husband Howard of Mintonville and Rissie Dick of Melbourne, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Gassel Dick, one sister, Burnetta Stringer, brother-in-law, Clyde Stringer and sister-in-law, Nancy Jean Dick. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Science Hill Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Lawrence Golden, Bro. Gene Wells and Douglas Quinten Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home and after 11 AM Wednesday at the church. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
