William Verney Denniston Jr., 80, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on January 23, 1933, son of the late William Verney Denniston Sr. and Lillie May Hiler Denniston Reis. He was a letter carrier for 25 years for the United States Postal Service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Korean war.
He is survived by three sons, Alan & (Kathy) Denniston of Huber Heights, OH, Bryan & (Cindy) Denniston of Tipp City, OH and Robin Denniston of Somerset, one brother, Jacob "JC" Denniston of Somerset, three grandchildren, Chloe Denniston, Cassie Denniston and Jake Denniston, half-brothers, Jimmy, Charlie, Garrett and William and half-sisters, Verneida, Freida, Helen, Jean and Terry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ona Imogene Colyer Denniston, who died on January 6, 1993 and his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, March 8, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Chris King officiating.
Burial will be in Colyer Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5 PM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
