Portia (Stevenson) Loveless

Portia Stevenson Loveless, 40, of Versailles, Kentucky, formerly of Somerset, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at University of Kentucky Medical Center after a short illness. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on February 13, 1968, daughter of the late James Stevenson and Oreida Kathryn McDaniel Newell. Portia was a graduate of Somerset High School, St. Catherine College and University of Kentucky. She was an employee of University of Kentucky Hospital for several years and most recently at Central Kentucky Management Services where she was an accounts representative. She was a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Ron Loveless of Versailles, whom she married on July 1, 1995, two daughters, Madeline Kate and Mollie Grace Loveless of Versailles, two brothers, Kim L. Newell of Indianapolis, IN and Greg Michael & (Sherlene) Newell of Murphysboro, IL, one sister, Michele S. & (Jeff) Watznauer of Yates City, IL, one uncle, Roy McDaniel of Lorton, VA, two aunts, Madeline Perossier of Louisville and Betty M. Beene of Indianapolis, IN, two sisters-in-law, Kay Newell of Somerset and Janice Newell of Birmingham, AL, several nieces and nephews and special friend of the family, Josephine Brown of Indianapolis, IN. She was the daughter-in-law of Linda Baker Loveless and the late Kenneth Loveless. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Archie K. Newell and Brian Kelly Newell and brother-in-law, Larry C. Loveless. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, Science Hill, KY with Bro. David King and Rev. Eric Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 - 9 PM Friday at the funeral home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
