Clyde Ruckel, 87, of Mt. Summit, Indiana and Ocala, Florida, formerly of Pulaski County, Kentucky, passed away March 11, 2013.
He was born March 31, 1925 in the Briary Community of Pulaski County, Kentucky. He was son of the late Harry and Lucretia Baugh Ruckel. He served in the U.S. Army from Dec. 1943 to May, 1946. He worked for Chrysler Motors factory in New Castle, Indiana from which he retired in 1979 after 40 years. He was a member of the Cadiz Christian Church. He loved to sing bass.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Henry Ruckel, Albert Ruckel and Robert Ruckel, sisters; Mabel Ruckel Baston, Viola Ruckel Burton, Mammie Ruckel and Verna Ruckel Burton.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years as of January 30, 2013, Dora Catchen Ruckel: sons; Steve (Elaine) Ruckel of Leesburg, Ga., Mike (Joyce) Ruckel of Mt. Summit, Ind.: daughter; Elisa (Joe) Follman of Ocala, Fla.: one grandson; Nicholas Ruckel and five granddaughters; Natalie Ruckel, Andrea Follman, Ashley Follman (Chase) Branum, Laura Ruckel (Paul) Johstono and Amanda Ruckel, also Brother; Rowen (Norma) Ruckel of Melbourne, Fla. and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 16, 2013, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home 5900 North Hwy. 27 Science Hill, Ky. 42553.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Woodstock Cemetery, Woodstock, Ky. with military honors by American Legion Post #18.
