Ted Denton, 89, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 at his residence.
He was born in Science Hill, Kentucky on January 9, 1924, son of the late Charlie and Sophronia Hall Denton. He was a carpenter and of the Baptist faith. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by five children, Steve & (Roseanna Marie) Denton, Geneva & (Ronnie James) Wesley and Ralph & (Judy Carolyn) Denton, all of Science Hill, Lavene & (Drew) Martin of Odessa, FL and Ray Denton of Ft. Myers, FL, six grandchildren, Stephen Michael & (Debbie) Denton, Karen Sue & (Gary) Haste, Brian James & (Maria) Wesley, Julie Michelle Denton, Jessica Ashley Martin and Cole Denton, seven great-grandchildren, Chasida Saxon, Samson Denton, Veronica Denton, Trevor Denton, Matthew Haste, Adam Haste and Tyler Wesley, four great-great-grandchildren, Olin Denton, Dakota Saxon, Kendrick Saxon and Olivia Saxon and one sister, Pansy Denton Cooper of Somerset.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Lola Francis Warren Denton, whom he married on August 17, 1945 and who died on May 6, 2011, his parents, one grandchild, Craig Martin Denton, two brothers, Raymond Denton and Lloyd Denton and one sister, Margaret Brammer.
Private services will be held.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
